The University of Greenwich is closed between 5pm on 20/12/24 and 9am on 02/01/25. The Report + Support Team will reply to your disclosure soon after their return. If you need information on reporting options or support available, please visit the Support Pages below. In any emergency, please call 999

Young people under 18 are legally considered to be children, or minors. The University of Greenwich has a legal duty to discharge its duty of care appropriately. If you are a young person under the age of 18, or you are a member of staff supporting a young person, please ensure you familiarise yourself with the our Under 18 Policy.

The Directorate of Student and Academic Services (SAS) provides an extensive range of services to students regardless of age. These include Counselling, Mental Health, Disability & Dyslexia and Psychological Wellbeing services (see Student Wellbeing Hub). Where one-to-one meetings are held with young people, staff will hold a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate. Young people will also be assigned a dedicated SWS contact who will regularly be in contact with them until they turn 18.

The Report + Support service exists for staff and students experiencing or witnessing any form of harassment, including bullying, discrimination, hate incident, or sexual misconduct. Students can report anonymously, or ask to speak to a trained advisor, and get information on reporting options and support available to make an informed decision on what happens next.

If a young person chooses to speak to an advisor when completing their disclosure form, they may want to invite their named SWS contact to any Report + Support meeting. Report + Support advisors hold current, enhanced DBS status.

If a young person chooses to disclose an incident anonymously, they will be redirected to this page. The University is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of young people who seek to access services or activities within the university. To ensure that the University maintains the highest possible standards to meet its responsibilities to protect and safeguard the welfare of young people, we would strongly encourage young people under 18 to select the "Speak to an Advisor" option instead, so that a specially trained advisor can provide tailored advice and support.
